:00 a teenager is being remembered tonight 30 years after she was murdered. ktvu's john sasaki tell us her killer has never been arrested even though community members claim they know who did it, john. >> reporter: julie this is the church where 14-year-old diana lin johnson worshiped 30 years ago tonight the community came together to honor diana and to call for her killer to be arrested. three decades after diana lin johnson was killed her friends are still overcome with emotion. diana was last seen at a party down the street from her vacaville home 30 years ago from tonight. her beaten and strangled body was found the next day by some near by railroad tracks. one of her friends says she remembers the day like it was yesterday. >> i had never experienced this evil and i had no idea it existed. i probably stood this shivering in complete sadness for about an hour until i was able to get myself to leave the horrific murder scene. >> but friends also remember the good times. >> reporter: at the time vacaville was a small farming town where it seemed everyone knew everyone's business. many say the

in california prisons the state is looking to drop warrants for some parolees. ktvu's john sasaki obtained a memo for what some are calling a get out of jail free card. >>> some parol offenders are about to have a very bad day. these men are members of the aprehe apprehension and they go after some very dangerous people. it's going to get more sparse soon. on this day we rolled along as they took parolees to custody. two sex offenders they could see was violating -- but right now the state is considering discharging 10,000 parolees at large from state parol. they will always pursue nonserious sex offenders that will be left on the streets. for now be that will change too. >> for anyone who has committed a crime but others who have committed violent crimes, then the question is what are the issues. often a more efficient way to deal with offenders who have committed lower level offenses. >> it's irresponsible on the state's part to make such a decision that would have impact locally on our violent crime. >> oakland police chief howard jordan is concerned about the change who says his city

, congressman van hollen, john boehner offered a compromise this week and he said, yes, i'm willing to put more revenue on the table, but, through closing deductions and ending loopholes, not through raising rates. can you accept a compromise as part of this whole deal, that doesn't raise the bush tax rate on the wealthy? >> well, here's the issue. how much revenue are we going to generate as part of the balanced package and i take my lead from simpson-bowles in their framework and they assume the amount of revenue as if you started tax reform from a 39% rate. that is part of their built-in assumption and i'm all for doing tax reform. the issue is, from what starting point. and i think the simpson-bowles starting point, which assumes that revenue from 39%, is the right way to go to get the next they got in hitting the deficit reduction target and if what speaker boehner was saying, he is truly willing to get what we consider congressional budget office scorable revenue, then we can begin to work with one another. if what we are simply saying is what republicans used to say, we will lower rates
